The Weekly Menu is back again with a few holiday recipes and a few for everyday. The dinner divas have your week covered, whether you’re looking for last minute holiday ideas or everyday meals to get dinner on the table. Meal planning isn’t glamorous, but having a game plan in place when you are really busy makes dinnertime so much easier.
Here’s how it works: Every Friday morning, a new menu plan will be delivered to your email. It consists of 5 dinner options, plus 2 extras. Those two extras could be side dishes, dessert, drinks, etc. The Dinner Divas weekly menu plan features quick and easy recipes. Getting the weekly menu delivered to your inbox on Friday morning gives you the chance to make your shopping list and get organized for the week ahead.
Make sure you are subscribed so you never miss a recipe! I hope this weekly menu plan provides inspiration and makes life a little easier… one meal at a time.
The Weekly Menu
First up this week is Comfortably Domestic’s Skillet Lasagna. A great recipe to kick off the week. All the flavors of lasagna in a quick and easy one pan meal. Because we all love lasagna, but let’s be honest, it’s not quick and easy.
Pastry Chef Online has Easy Sloppy Joes this week, which is perfect timing for us! We wanted sloppy joes and she magically delivered the recipe just in time!
Mediterranean Herb Crusted Beef Tenderloin from The Speckled Palate is our midweek recipe. It’s an impressive celebratory dinner or special occasion meal. If you have never made a beef tenderloin, check out my Porcini Crusted Beef Tenderloin post where I walk you through it, step by step.
Homemade Pot Pies from My Imperfect Kitchen are next on our weekly menu plan. Get simple and helpful instructions on how to make pot pies from scratch!
The last recipe on our meal plan this week is Red Wine Braised Short Ribs from Pook’s Pantry. This isn’t a quick recipe, but it is well worth the wait. The short ribs cook low and slow in a bath of red wine, perfuming your house with the delicious scent of aromatics, vegetables and beef bubbling away.
The Weekly Sweets
This week, we have two gingerbread recipes! One in cake form and the other in cookie form. Gingerbread is one of those flavors that is synonymous with Christmas. It is the only time of the year that we make it and if I had to describe the “taste of Christmas”, it would be gingerbread. While not everyone is a gingerbread lover, I am a big enough fan to make up for those people. Now, let’s get to the sweets!
First up is Gingerbread Cake from Pook’s Pantry. This is my grandmother’s recipe. It is easily 80 years old, if not older. The thing I like about this recipe is that it has the perfect amount of spice. Enough to make it full of flavor, but not so much that you feel like you’re eating a bowl of potpourri. Another tasty addition is the use of brewed tea in place of water, which also gives it more flavor. This recipe is quick and easy, which makes it perfect for having on hand when friends and family come to visit.
Finally, we wrap up our week with Gingerbread Cut Out Cookies from Comfortably Domestic. I will be making gingerbread cookies this weekend, have you made yours? I’m a little behind this year, but this recipe is perfect timing.
