Judi, first let me say how sorry I am about your girl's diagnosis. Secondly, I am so happy that she likes these treats! Giving our babies what we can to make them happy is what it's all about. I'm glad the treats were easier than you thought they'd be! Give her lots of kisses from me, and perhaps an extra treat! xx

I have never, ever made a homemade treat for my dogs. Ever. But my 16 year old soul dog was recently diagnosed with a highly aggressive mast cell carcinoma and since this is an inflammatory cancer, I felt it best to look for some homemade treats to help her body do the best at fighting. I subscribe to Pook's recipes and when I saw this recipe and the benefits of the anti-inflammatory benefits, I decided it was time to dive in. This recipe was SO MUCH easier to do than I anticipated, not to mention, it felt GREAT knowing I was doing something healthy to help my pet. My soul dog is OBSESSED with these treats...to the point that she followed me around while I gave nibbles to my other dogs whimpering for more. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!

I have a 90 lb golden retriever. Is it possible to use more turmeric in the recipe? I’ve read where dogs need 1/8-1/4 teaspoon per 10 lbs of weigh which would be 1 and 1/8 teaspoon per serving. And if I add more turmeric, would I need to add more black pepper?

Hi Tanya! Yes they can. Baking time and temp shouldn't change, but it depends on your oven. Just keep an eye on them for the first time, so you know for sure. Depending on how thick the mold is, they might require a little more time. If it's the same thickness as the rolled out treats, you'll be fine. :)
