I cook the pumpkin with piloncillo,(brown sugar) cloves and cinnamon, add about 2 cups of water and boil until done, Pumpkin releases a lot of water so that is all you need. To make the dough, I use the juice the pump was cooked in and add milk and alot of ingredients. as you mentioned. Alspice, sugar, salt, milk, butter, Shortening, vanilla, and eggs. Of course all purpose flour. I wanted a recipe like this.
