Oatmeal can be a great option for dogs with tummy issues.  If your pup has a sensitive stomach, or has been diagnosed with gastrointestinal issues, oatmeal may help alleviate some of it.

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups water

1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

PREP TIME1:  2 minutes COOK TIME:  8 minutes TOTAL TIME:  10 minutes

DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG RAW OATMEAL!

In a small sauce pan, bring  2 1/2 cups of water to a simmer. Then, Add 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oatmeal and stir until combined.

Step 1

step 2

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer, stirring frequently. Cook for 7 - 8 minutes, until oatmeal is thickened and oats have absorbed the water.

Let the oatmeal cool before feeding to your dog. (You don't want to burn their mouth) The oatmeal will thicken as it cools.

Store leftover oatmeal in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.  Reheat with a few tablespoons of water to thin it. (It will become VERY thick when it's cold)
