Traditional Rum Balls Recipe

This traditional no bake recipe comes together in no time and because the flavor develops even more overnight, it’s the perfect make ahead sweet.

A great addition to Christmas cookie platters or parties. The recipe makes 5 dozen, plenty to share with friends and family.

Combine vanilla wafer cookies and pecans in bowl of a food processor. If you don't have a food processor, break them up with a rolling pin in a zip-top bag.

Grind cookies and pecans until they look like coarse sand. You may still have pieces of cookie or pecans - they should be no bigger than a pea.

Using a small cookie scoop, portion rum balls and roll into smooth balls. Using a scoop ensures that they will all be the same size!

Toss in powdered sugar and place on parchment-lined sheet pan. They are even better the next day, so cover them tightly with plastic wrap & let the flavors develop!

Pro Tip: Rum balls do not to be refrigerated, but they should be stored in a cool area.  Refrigerating them will extend the life of them, provided they last very long at all.
