- 3 cups whole wheat flour 339g (+ extra for dusting counter)
- 1 - 2 large eggs *see note
- 1 cup pumpkin puree 240mL
- 1 medium banana mashed
Preheat oven to 350°F / 180°C.
In a medium mixing bowl, mash banana, then add pumpkin and egg(s). Whisk together until thoroughly combined.
Then add flour in 2 or 3 additions, and mix until all the flour is incorporated and dough is uniform.
Lightly dust the counter and a rolling pin with flour, then roll out dough to approximately 1/8" and cut out treats.Gather the scraps, re-roll the dough, and cut out treats until all of the dough is used. Lay on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 20 minutes. Cool completely before giving to your pup!
- Adding one egg will make a drier, crunchier treat. Adding 2 eggs will give you a softer, chewier treat.
- The dough is going to be a little sticky - you will need to flour the counter, the rolling pin, and the cookie cutter. Don't worry about adding a little extra flour, the biscuits will be fine.
- The longer you bake the treats, the crispier they will become! If you like a softer treat for your pup, reduce baking time by 4 minutes.
- I used a small cookie cutter, a little under 2". If you use a larger cutter to make treats for a larger dog, you will need to increase baking time by a minute or two, and the yield will be less than 100.
