Strawberry Simple Syrup
- 1 1/2 pints strawberries washed and hulled (about 4 cups, whole berries)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups water
Limeade
- 1 cup fresh squeezed lime juice about 8 limes
- 4 cups cold water
In a small sauce pot, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir to combine and simmer over medium heat until dissolved.
Remove from heat, cool to room temperature.
In a blender, combine strawberries and simple syrup. Blend until smooth.
Combine lime juice, strawberry simple syrup and water in a pitcher. Stir to combine.
Serve over ice and garnish with strawberries and lime wheels, if desired.
If you like your limeade less sweet, you may want to reduce the sugar. If you like it sweeter, increase sugar to 1 1/2 cups.
Also, if you like it less strong, add an additional cup of water.
You can make this a day or two ahead of time and store in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.
