White Peach Sangria Recipe

This white peach sangria is one of my favorite summer cocktails because it is light, refreshing, and easy to make. Fresh, juicy peaches soak in crisp white wine with a splash of peach nectar and orange liqueur, creating a fruity sangria that’s full of fresh summer flavor without being overly sweet.

It’s the kind of pitcher drink that’s perfect for backyard cookouts, weekend brunch, or a laid-back afternoon with friends. The best part? You can make it ahead of time, so when everyone arrives, all you have to do is add a little sparkling water, pour a glass, and enjoy.

I’ll share my favorite wines to use, a few easy variations, and plenty of tips to help you make the best white peach sangria every time.

White Peach Sangria Recipe

Most sangrias are too sweet for me, which is why I rarely order them at a restaurant. By making this peach sangria at home, you can make it exactly how you like it.

One thing that gets overlooked (even by me, on occasion), is having enough fresh fruit. The fruit that has been sitting in the pitcher all day is delicious, but you’ll want to make sure you have freshly cut fruit to add to everyone’s glass before serving. No one wants soggy peaches, friends.

What is the best white wine for sangria?

For this white peach sangria, I like Sauvignon Blanc or a white Rioja. You can also go with a Pinot Grigio, an Albariño, or a dry Riesling. I would avoid oaky Chardonnay or sweet wines. It’s also worth mentioning that this is not the time to use that expensive bottle you’ve been saving for a special occasion.

Ingredients

Ingredients for white peach sangria on a white background.
  • Dry white wine – Use a crisp, dry white wine like Sauvignon Blanc as the base of the sangria.
  • Cointreau – Cointreau gives the peach sangria a bit of citrusy flavor.
    • Substitutions: Use peach brandy in place of cointreau for extra peachy flavor.
  • Fresh peaches – Ripe, juicy peaches add natural sweetness and fresh summer flavor.
  • Plums and cherries – Sweet-tart plums and cherries complement the peaches.
  • Peach nectar – Peach nectar boosts the peach flavor without making the sangria overly sweet.
    • Substitution: You can make the peach nectar instead of buying it by puréeing 3 or 4 peaches with a few tablespoons of water, then strain it.
  • Simple syrup – A little simple syrup lets you adjust the sweetness to your taste.
  • Peach seltzer – Peach seltzer adds a light fizz and keeps the sangria refreshing.
  • Lemon and lime – A few slices of lemon and lime brighten the flavors and add a touch of tart citrus.

Here’s a quick summary of how to make white peach sangria. Please see the recipe card at the bottom of this post for the full recipe.

Step by step photo showing how to make peach sangria.
  1. Prep – The first step is making the simple syrup. This is simply combining equal parts sugar and water in a pot and simmering until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Slice – Thinly slice peaches, plums, lemon and lime.
  3. Add – Add wine, peach juice, simple syrup, and half of the fruit to the pitcher, give it a good stir and refrigerate.
  4. Serve – Add ice and fresh fruit to each glass, pour sangria into glasses, top with a splash of seltzer.

Tips for Success

If you have the time, let the sangria sit in the refrigerator all day or overnight. This will help infuse it with all of the luscious fruit juices.

  • Use ripe but firm peaches.
  • Add sparkling water just before serving.
  • Reserve fresh fruit for each glass.

FAQ’s

How long should I chill the peach sangria?

Ideally, the white wine peach sangria should chill for at least 2 – 4 hours. If you want to make it ahead, you can chill it up to 24 hours.

Can I use frozen peaches?

Yes! You can use frozen peaches for this sangria. No need to thaw them, just toss right into the sangria.

How long does sangria last in the refrigerator?

Sangria will last 3 – 4 days in the refrigerator, if it is stored in an airtight container. I recommend removing the fruit after 24 hours because it will break down and get mushy.

  • 1 bottle white wine *see notes
  • ½ cup Cointreau
  • 1 cup peach nectar or pure peach juice
  • ½ cup simple syrup or, to taste, optional *see note
  • ½ liter peach seltzer water
  • 3 peaches
  • 4 plums
  • 1 cup cherries
  • 1 lemon sliced (optional)
  • 1 lime

Instructions

  • Make the simple syrup by combining ½ cup water with ½ cup sugar. Bring to simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has completely dissolved. Cool completely. (this can be done ahead of time)
  • Slice 2 peaches, 2 plums, 1 lemon, and 1 lime. Pit cherries, and set aside. Reserve the remaining fruit for serving.
  • Add wine, Cointreau, peach nectar, simple syrup (if using), and half of the fruit to the pitcher, give it a good stir and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • When ready to serve, add ice and fresh fruit (peaches, plums, cherries, lemon and lime) to each glass.
  • Pour sangria into glasses, then top with seltzer water, give it a quick stir, and garnish with fresh herbs, if using.

Chef’s Notes

  • Sauvignon Blanc is my preferred wine for this. You can also go with a white Rioja, or a Pinot Grigio.
  • If you have the time, let the sangria sit in the refrigerator all day or overnight. This will help infuse it with all of the luscious fruit juices.
  • The simple syrup is optional. Personally, I don’t use it because I don’t like very sweet sangria. I have friends who LOVE a sweet sangria. Add it to your personal tastes.
