Frozen strawberry daiquiri recipe
This easy, 4 ingredient frozen strawberry daiquiri recipe is icy cold, tart and sweet, refreshing, and full of strawberry flavor. No mixes, nothing artificial, just frozen strawberries, lime juice, sugar and rum. Because this drink is made without ice, it doesn’t dilute the bright strawberry flavor.

Frozen strawberry daiquiri recipe
If you have only had a daiquiri made from mixers, a daiquiri made from just fruit, lime juice, sugar and rum is a revelation. This strawberry daiquiri with frozen strawberries is perfect for those occasions when you want a fun and frosty cocktail without much effort.
Frozen daiquiris can be sublime when made with fresh ingredients, so toss the artificial mixers and let’s make one from scratch.
This delicious frozen cocktail only has 4 ingredients and it comes together in less than 10 minutes.
- Lime juice – I prefer the flavor of fresh lime juice to the bottled stuff. It has a brighter, fresher flavor.
- Frozen strawberries – The base of this cocktail recipe. You can buy frozen strawberries, or freeze fresh strawberries.
- Rum – Look for white (silver) rum for daiquiris.
- Sugar – Adjust the amount of sugar to suit your tastes. This will also depend on the sweetness of your berries.
How to make a strawberry daiquiri
This recipe for strawberry daiquiri with frozen strawberries is super simple and it’s done in about 10 minutes.
- First, wet the rim of the glass with a lime wedge.
- Dip the glass into sugar. Tap the glass a few times, rotating the glass if needed, into the sugar. (I don’t recommend twisting the glass back and forth, because sometimes you end up knocking the sugar off the rim.) Turn the glasses right side up and set aside while the sugar dries.
- Add the lime juice, rum and sugar to the blender.
- Add the strawberries in batches to make sure it blends properly and you don’t damage the motor in your blender. Blend until smooth and slushy.

Rum is the traditional spirit used in daiquiris. You can substitute vodka if you prefer it.
Silver, or white rum, is the best rum to use for daiquiris because of it’s light flavor.
Yep! To make it ahead of time, blend it all up in the blender, then either pour it into ice cube trays, or into plastic zip-top freezer bags. You can pop the “daiquiri ice cubes” into the blender and blend it up again until it’s the perfect consistency.
Just as we added the frozen strawberries in batches, I’d recommend adding a little liquid (water, rum, lime juice) to the blender along with a few “daiquiri ice cubes” to get the mixture going so you don’t damage your blender motor.
Variations and substitutions
- To make a strawberry daiquiri mocktail – Simply omit the rum. You can replace it with a splash of water, tonic water or juice to adjust the consistency, if needed.
- You can substitute some of the frozen strawberries with fresh, if you have some in the fridge that need to be used up.
- Try swapping half of the strawberries with blueberries or raspberries for a fun variation.

Helpful tools and equipment
- The best blender for daiquiris – I have a Vitamix, that I love and swear by, but they are expensive. We also own a Ninja. It works great and is more affordable.
- Cocktail jigger – The same rose gold shot jigger that I own.
- Citrus juicer – If you have arthritis or not a lot of strength in your hands, this is a great juicer. I have this exact one and it is super easy to use and clean.

Frozen strawberry daiquiri recipe
Easy, 4 ingredient, frozen strawberry daiquiri recipe.
- 1/4 cup - 1/3 cup granulated sugar // 50g - 66g
- 1/3 cup lime juice (from about 3 limes) // 80ml
- 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup silver (white) rum // 4 - 6oz. // 118 - 177ml
- 1 lb. frozen strawberries // 16oz. // 454g
- * lime wedges or wheels + cocktail umbrellas for garnish, if desired
- Add sugar, lime juice and rum to the pitcher of a blender.
- Blend on low speed for a few seconds just to mix. (This also helps the sugar to start dissolving.)
- Slowly add about half of the strawberries, a few at time, on medium speed and blend until they are thoroughly mixed in. (You could risk damaging the motor of your blender if you dump them all in at once, plus it may not blend properly. It's best to do it in batches)
- Add remaining strawberries and blend on high speed until it is a slushy consistency. Serve immediately.
- I served my strawberry daiquiris in coupe glasses that hold just over 1 cup. If you have serve them in smaller or larger glasses, your serving sizes will change. If you have larger glasses, you may only get 2 drinks out of the recipe.
- I prefer silver rum for this cocktail, it is not aged (or aged less than a year) and is lighter in taste than other rums.
- A standard shot (jigger) is 1 1/2 ounces, but many shot glasses, mine included, have one ounce on the small end and 2 ounces on the larger end. So, if you want to measure the rum with a jigger, make sure you know the size of yours, so you can measure accurately.
- I recommend using FRESH lime juice instead of the bottled stuff. It will completely change the taste of your cocktail.
- This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled if you are serving a large group. Depending on the size of your blender, you may need to do it in batches.
- Adjust the amount of sugar to your tastes - berries vary in sweetness. Some may be sweeter than others, so taste your drink and adjust as necessary.
