I call these types of libations “umbrella drinks”, because they usually come with little paper drink umbrellas and perhaps a bit of skewered fruit.
Normally, frozen drink recipes are too sweet for me, which is why making them at home is a great option. You get to control the sweetness, the amount of alcohol and just how slushy you like your drink.
The recipe gives you exact amounts, but feel free to adjust to suit your personal preferences. They are perfect for summer parties, sipping poolside with a few friends or just enjoying on the patio.
How to make a frozen daiquiri
A frozen daiquiri is possibly one of the easiest drink recipes to make. The first step is making a simple syrup by simmering sugar and water together in a small pot.
Peel a couple of mangoes and slice the flesh off of the long, skinny pit inside, then dice it up into rough chunks. Juice a few limes, grab some crushed ice from the freezer and measure out a cup or so of white rum.
Then, everything is tossed into the blender and whirled up until it is a uniform, frosty concoction.
What’s in a mango daiquiri?
This easy frozen daiquiri recipe contains white rum, fresh mangoes, lime juice, ice and simple syrup. That’s it.
Nothing artificial, no mixers – just a handful of fresh ingredients.
Best blender for daiquiris
My favorite blender, and the one I own that is pictured below, is a Vitamix. It is not an inexpensive blender, but it is the same one we use in professional kitchens.
The reason for that is because this thing can handle anything that you throw at it. From silky puréed soups to a frozen mango daiquiri recipe, it does the job beautifully and the motor lasts forever, meaning you’ll likely never have to replace it.
It would be a great gift for someone (or YOURSELF) who loves to cook or someone who enjoys entertaining and having parties.
This blender is another great option, with a ton of great reviews, and it costs a bit less.
