Wine spritzer with cherries and strawberries
A wine spritzer is a summertime staple. Light and refreshing, this strawberry cherry wine spritzer is a tasty way to brighten up a bit of wine and club soda. Like all of my fresh cherry recipes, this cocktail is made with sweet cherries. Meet your new deliciously easy summer drink.

This is the time of year when we have backyard bbq’s, we host outdoor gatherings of all kinds and have summer parties just because we want to see our friends. Make a pitcher or two of these to serve at your next summer soirée.
This recipe is made with white wine, but you could easily swap it with rosé or vodka. Looking for a mocktail? I have a variation for an alcohol-free drink as well to make it kid-friendly.

Wine Spritzer
If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know how much I love a good wine spritzer recipe. So far, we’ve made a Blood Orange White Wine Spritzer, a Strawberry Spritzer with Rosé and a Blueberry Spritzer with White Wine.

Why do I love them so much? I am a lightweight when it comes to drinking and a wine spritzer is the perfect solution. I can sip away all afternoon without getting too tipsy. Because, let’s be honest, I’m in my 40’s now and I have stuff to do the next day. I can’t spend the following day on the couch nursing a headache.
Strawberry Cherry Spritzer
Summer is almost upon us and with it comes cherries and strawberries. Summertime is when we get the best fruit and if you are like me, you tend to go crazy when it hits the market and then you find yourself with quite a bit of it in the fridge.

The smell of fresh strawberries gets me every single time as does the glossy, deep ruby skin of fresh cherries. I can’t help myself, I end up buying enough for a small village.
When you are searching for ways to use up all that delicious fruit, why not make a few fruity beverages with it? This tasty bev is quick and easy, it can serve a crowd and you can make it kid-friendly.
White Wine Spritzer
Normally, a wine spritzer is wine with club soda and a bit of lemon peel for garnish. That is fine and dandy, but sometimes I need more flavor. That’s where the cherry juice comes in.
I was on the search for 100% cherry juice with no extra sugar added. I found myself standing in the juice aisle at the grocery store looking for cherry juice and the first few juice bottles I pulled from the shelf listed apple juice as the first ingredient. Obviously, this wasn’t going to work, so I kept looking and eventually stumbled upon exactly what I was looking for.

Pure cherry juice, not from concentrate and without a ton of sugar. BINGO. That is the cherry juice I bought. There are different brands and different kinds of cherry juice, it can get a little overwhelming trying to decide which one to buy, so I wanted to show you the bottle.
Now you know exactly what to look for when you go to the store. On a side note, I also used it as part of a marinade for a pork tenderloin and it was fantastic!

Virgin Spritzer Mocktail
To make this cocktail unleaded, simply leave out the wine. If you don’t drink, or if you are pregnant, but still want a lovely drink, you can still enjoy it without the alcohol.

To make this kid-friendly, I would swap out the club soda for a lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7-Up) or a flavored fizzy water like la croix. That will make it a bit sweeter and/or fruitier for the kiddos.
Wine Spritzer with Fruit
This drink comes together in less than five minutes and it couldn’t be easier to make. It’s light and fruity without being overly sweet and it’s less than 150 calories per drink.

You can make a pitcher to serve to guests or by the glass for an afternoon cocktail to enjoy on the patio. Whether you make it as is or as a mocktail, this drink is a great summer beverage.
Used to make this recipe:
- If we are going to make a pitcher of drinks for our guests, we need a pitcher. Choose a clear glass pitcher to showcase the pretty color of this drink.
- Wooden skewers are perfect for drink garnishes and appetizers. No more searching for those fancy metal picks that ended up in the bin.
- A long spoon is essential for mixing drinks in pitcher s and this one is simple and elegant.
- These napkins are so dang cute and they are the perfect napkin to use with this drink.
